Troop Committee Minutes - Jan 10

Here are the Troop Committee minutes from the January 2010 meeting.

We  really would like to have more parent participation in these meetings. Please read the News & Notes mail that is sent out each week.  This will tell you when the committee meets.  It is generally the first Thursday of the month.

SPL Report

·         Winter Camping Scout Skills last Tuesday

·         12th MB

·         19th Scout Skills, CPR – Mr. Graffagnino, Winter Safety

·         26th MB, Menus

·         2th SS, Winter Camping Competition (Shaun Fath)

·         5 – 7th Holly Shelter

o   10 Mile Hike

o   E-Science

o   Axe Yard

o   Service Project

§  Cleaning up the trash in the area.

·         9th MB

SM Report

·         PLC Discussion

·         MB – Cit Nation, Cit World, Communications, Physical Fitness, and E-Science.

·         Calendar

o   CROP March 21st

·         Ski Helmets - required

o   Downhill Skiing

o   Snow Boards

·         Seabase

·         Will Merkel planning on completing his Eagle project by the end of spring.

·         Darrin La Forge’s Eagle Project

ASM Report

·         Summer Camp

o   Talked to Webelos in Pack 461.  Will meet with Den soon.

o   Jim is meeting with Troop 17 who is coming to SC with us this year.

o   Money Due to Blue Ridge Council in Feb, April, and May.

§  Money due from campers: 1/19, 3/22, 4/20 ($100, $100, Balance)

§  New Medical Form will need to be used.

§  Need Drivers and trailer

·         Spring Camporee

·         Philmont Camping Trip / 10 Mile Hikes

o   Troop 17 would like to participate in the 10 mile hikes

·         Cross Over for Pack

o   Waiting on information on this.

Treasurer

·         Nothing new to report/

o   2 checks from GSK are coming “the check is in the mail”

o   We are solvent.
